Vertical column reinforcement bars are offset to the inside of the bars above with a maximum slope of one to six where the column size changes. The lap splice occurs within the middle half zone of the column height between floor slabs. Transverse ties or spirals are spaced according to the column schedule. Corner column verticals may be extended at the contractor's option as needed for stability during construction.
