A continuous 3x top chord nailer, matching the width of the steel joist chord, is fastened through the top chord of the steel joist with two #14 wood screws at 24 inches on center. A wood purlin is supported by the steel joist using a Simpson HFN hanger, attached per the manufacturer's recommendations. Roof sheathing is installed over the top of the purlins and nailer assembly as specified per plan.
