A tapered steel beam frames into a supporting steel beam beneath a concrete over steel deck slab, maintaining a maximum one-foot six-inch overhang. A three-eighths-inch continuous bent plate acts as the edge form for the concrete slab, welded with typical quarter-inch welds at twelve-inch intervals. A beam web stiffener plate is welded to the supporting steel beam beneath the deck bearing point. The tapered beam connects via a bolted shear tab.
