A pipe sleeve passes through a corrugated metal roof deck and is surrounded by an eighteen gauge plate. The plate is fastened to the metal roof deck using number ten sheet metal screws spaced at six inches on center each way. Sizing criteria dictates a twelve inch square plate for pipe diameters less than or equal to four inches, a twenty-four inch square plate for diameters less than or equal to eight inches, and a thirty-six inch square plate for diameters less than twelve inches.
