This structural steel connection features a one-inch A572-50 gusset plate welded to a vertical steel column and supporting diagonal brace members. The braces are sized per elevation with a slotted five-eighths-inch by five-inch by one-foot-four-inch A572-50 plate on each side, secured with three-quarter-inch diameter A307 typical erection bolts. Framing beams connect to the column web with typical one-and-a-half-inch by one-and-a-half-inch clips. Fillet welds of five-sixteenth-inch and three-eighths-inch sizes are specified throughout the connection assembly, with designated no-weld zones and a one-inch minimum gap.
