A structural steel beam frames into a supporting structural member using a half-inch thick connection plate. Six one-inch diameter A325-X bolts secure the beam web to the plate on each end. A three-eighths-inch fillet weld applied on three sides secures the connection assembly. The slab is omitted from the view for clarity.
