A deflection track is embedded in a continuous bead of acoustical sealant at the structural interface for the head condition of a shaft wall framing assembly. CH-shaped studs as scheduled support five-eighths inch gypsum board layers per wall type and one-inch gypsum liner panels. Sound attenuation insulation fills the cavity, and smoke and acoustical sealant is applied to both sides at the head joint.
