A steel beam supports a stepped composite slab transition utilizing a continuous L4x4x3/8 angle welded to the web with a quarter-inch fillet weld at twelve inches on center. Metal decking spans across the steel beam per structural plans. Continuous number four reinforcing bars run horizontally along the step, supplemented by number four bars spaced at eighteen inches on center. The concrete slab steps up to a higher elevation centered over the supporting steel beam.
