A slip connection utilizes a 6x4x5/16-inch angle, five inches long with long leg horizontal on each side, secured with a three-quarter-inch through bolt in a two-inch vertical slotted hole complete with double nuts. A three-eighths-inch bent plate ties into the assembly, welded with quarter-inch welds along three sides of the bent plate and three-sixteenths-inch welds along three sides of the angle. The connection interfaces with a structural steel beam and metal deck assembly, providing controlled vertical movement through the slotted hole configuration.
