A steel column bears on a steel base plate set on one and one-half inches of non-shrink grout over a concrete footing. The base is surrounded by a concrete blockout and a reinforced concrete wrap containing eight number four vertical bars and number three ties at eight inches on center to match the finished diameter of the glass fiber reinforced concrete column wrap above. A five-sixteenths fillet weld connects the steel components. A concrete slab on grade abuts the blockout assembly.
