A wide-flange steel column is welded to a 1-inch by 16-inch by 1-foot-4-inch base plate using 5/16-inch fillet welds typical. The assembly is anchored with four 1-inch diameter anchor bolts spaced at a 12-inch gauge with an 11-inch embedment length unless noted otherwise. Two 1-1/2-inch diameter grout holes are provided in the plate centered along the column web. A drawing note indicates that this detail does not apply to buckling-restrained braced frame columns, which are detailed in the schedule.
