An intermediate diaphragm spans between the exterior girder and the first interior girder with a center-to-center spacing of 3 feet 1 inch. The W21x182 framing member features a 1-inch clip at the top and bottom flanges with a 3/4-inch radius at the re-entrant cut for connection to the stiffeners, and the top and bottom flanges are coped. Bearing stiffeners measuring 1 1/8 inches by 10 inches are welded to the girder webs with 5/16-inch welds and complete joint penetration welds. Additional detailing includes 3/4-inch typical dimensions and 5 equal spaces for bolt patterns along the connection plate.
