An existing steel beam connects across an interior wall using a three-quarter-inch diameter epoxy-set dowel drilled into the existing wall. The embedment depth into the existing wall may vary depending on field conditions. A threaded rod with a one-and-a-half-inch coupler extends to tie back into existing three-by-thirteen-and-a-half members where they occur. Steel plates are installed per the typical chord detail, supplemented by four-by blocking and blocking details as specified. Wood framing is omitted from this view and referenced in detail 3.
