Metal roof deck runs parallel to a gabled joist or wide-flange beam condition at the roof ridge. A twenty-gauge closure plate spans across the center line with a one-inch gap. Number twelve sheet metal screws secure the closure plate to the roof deck at parallel spacing per the structural schedule.
