A wide flange beam connects to a hollow structural section column via a five-eighths inch by four inch shear plate. The plate is shop-welded to the column face with a three-sixteenths inch fillet weld. The beam web is field-bolted to the shear plate using a quantity of bolts designated as N. The connection provides a simple shear transfer between the beam and the column.
