A steel column sits on a steel base plate supported by a two-inch layer of non-shrink grout over a concrete footing or pier. Anchor rods with top and bottom nuts secure the assembly through a steel anchor plate embedded below. A gusset plate and stiffener plates are provided as required by the brace manufacturer, connected with complete joint penetration welds at each flange and five-sixteenths fillet welds. A companion detail shows a steel base plate set flush with a steel weld plate and steel embed plate anchored into the concrete foundation. A reference table details anchor rod hole sizes and minimum plate washer dimensions for various rod diameters ranging from one inch to two inches.
