This connection features a diagonal brace bolted to a 3/4-inch thick gusset plate using six 3/4-inch diameter bolts. The gusset plate is welded to the column and the underside of the beam with 5/16-inch fillet welds. A 3/8-inch thick stiffener plate is welded to the column flange and the underside of the beam, with 5/16-inch fillet welds on all sides. Shims are provided as required between the gusset plate and the beam flange. The brace is oriented at angles of 33 degrees and 28 degrees relative to the beam and column axes.
