A structural steel column web is oriented perpendicular to the slab edge with a maximum dimension of two feet zero inches from the column centerline to the edge of slab. A bent plate connects to the angle with a three-sixteenth-inch fillet weld at twelve inches on center with a minimum of three welds typically. Where metal deck is perpendicular to the edge of slab, provide a one-quarter-inch bent plate, and where metal deck is parallel to the edge of slab, omit the bent plate and provide a deck closure per drawing nineteen SF six point eleven. An L two by two by three-sixteenths angle is located at each flange. The bent plate to column connection features a three-sixteenth-inch fillet weld on both sides.
