A steel column receives a beam moment connection reinforced with doubler plates welded to the column web. Continuity plates align with the beam flanges, and stiffener plates provide additional web reinforcement. Groove welds conform to AWS D1.8 Clause 4.3 requirements, with a minimum fillet weld size of three-sixteenths of an inch specified at plate edges. Plate thicknesses are proportioned using the doubler plate thickness variable.
