A hollow structural section post is welded to a 1/2-inch thick by 3-inch wide by 9-inch long steel plate with 1/4-inch fillet welds. The base plate is anchored using two 1/2-inch diameter ASTM F1554 Grade 36 threaded rods installed with drill and epoxy adhesive, set at a 2-3/4 inch embedment depth. The anchor rods are positioned with 1-1/2 inch typical edge clearances from the plate boundaries.
