A structural diagonal brace consisting of a 3x3x1/4-inch angle connects from each outrigger to the top flange of the nearest steel beam or top chord of the steel joist, skewed as required. A 1/4-inch by 6-inch by 6-inch weld plate is positioned at the diagonal brace. A 5/16-inch by 4-inch bent plate is centered on the plate web, secured with 3/16-inch fillet welds. The contractor may optionally provide the connection using two 7/8-inch diameter A325 bolts instead of the field weld.
