An open web steel joist is reinforced at a concentrated load point using additional diagonal web members fabricated from angle sections. The added diagonal members consist of a minimum L2x2x3/16 angle size welded to the top and bottom chords. This reinforcement accommodates heavy concentrated loads spaced six inches from existing panel points.
