A non-bearing HSS6x4 hollow structural section column terminates beneath a concrete slab on metal deck. The assembly uses a three-quarter-inch thick plate measuring 11 inches by 1 foot 4 inches, secured to the lower flute of the metal deck with four half-inch diameter by 3-inch expansion anchors. Two L3x3 angles are welded to each side of the HSS column with quarter-inch fillet welds on two legs. The top of the column connects to the underside of the deck plate.
