An angle measuring three inches by three inches by one-quarter inch and nine inches long connects the top of the hollow structural section edge beams at the corner joint. The mitered corner cut ensures a tight fit between the intersecting members. A three-sixteenth-inch fillet weld secures the angle along its side and bottom edges. The hollow structural section members are sized per plan.
