A structural brace connects to the underside of a steel beam web and flange using an L3x3x1/4 angle and a 3/8-inch gusset plate sized as required with erection bolts. The gusset plate is attached to the beam web with a one-quarter inch fillet weld and to the beam flange with a three-sixteenths inch fillet weld. An optional five-eighths inch diameter A325 bolt may be used in lieu of field welding for the brace connection. Field welding symbols and specific edge dimensions govern the layout of the gusset plate and angle members.
