A vertical gusset plate passes through a concrete slab on steel deck and is welded directly to the top flange of a supporting steel beam. The concrete slab features reinforcement per schedule with number 4 bars at 12 inches minimum, including number 4 bars on each side of the gusset plate. The structural beam is sized per elevation. The top of concrete elevation is marked.
