A davit socket pedestal is mounted atop a structural steel beam, which connects to a steel column offset from the support centerline. Three-eighths-inch stiffener plates are welded to each side of the column web using quarter-inch fillet welds. A one-half-inch by four-inch plate, sized to the beam width plus one inch, is secured to the beam flanges with quarter-inch fillet welds. The beam web is connected to the stiffener plate with quarter-inch fillet welds.
