A two-inch typical braced frame slot opening is located at the edge of a concrete slab. The opening is framed with two number four bars placed at four inches on each side of the opening, alongside continuous number four reinforcing bars. Additional slab edge reinforcement is provided per the perpendicular section detail at the deck edge. The slot provides clearance for structural bracing members passing through the floor diaphragm.
