Lightning protection and grounding assembly for a roof drain, utilizing a class II copper down conductor connected via exothermic welds. A five-eighths inch by eighteen-inch blunt tipped solid copper air terminal integrates with a continuous class II copper potential equalization loop. L-brackets with mechanical cable holders mount to insulated metal panels to secure the conductors. All cable connections require exothermic welding, and conductors must maintain a minimum bend radius of eight inches in accordance with FAA-STD-019G.
