A buckling-restrained braced frame column base plate connection bears on non-shrink grout over a concrete foundation element. The steel column is welded to a base plate using complete joint penetration welds at the flanges and fillet welds at the web. Four ASTM F1554 Grade 105 anchor rods extend through the base plate and are anchored by an embedded anchor plate assembly at a specified minimum depth. Washer plates with standard holes are welded in place, and anchor rod nuts are tightened only after these washer plate welds are complete.
