Additional number four horizontal reinforcing bars are added to both sides in both directions around penetrations up to eight inches in diameter. Interrupted reinforcement is detailed with development length requirements and minimum spacing equal to three times the diameter of the larger penetration. Standard slab on grade reinforcement continues per plan outside the penetration zone.
