An exterior concrete grade beam supports a stem wall and a concrete slab on grade. The grade beam is reinforced with continuous horizontal number five rebar spaced at six inches on center. The stem wall measures two feet two inches thick and features vertical number five reinforcing bars at twelve inches on center with ninety-degree hooks at each end. A concrete slab with a minimum thickness of six inches bears above, maintaining a standard two-inch concrete clearance throughout. A two-foot minimum lap splice is provided for the reinforcement.
