Mechanical service lines are routed underneath the foundation wall and strip footing within a shored trench excavated into the approved subgrade. The trench sides are temporarily shored and fitted with temporary braces as required, to be removed in stages during construction. The service line rests on bedding of approved fill and is surrounded by gravel backfill compacted to one hundred percent standard proctor dry density.
