The metal deck is secured to the top flange of the steel beam with one-half inch diameter puddle welds spaced at twelve inches on center. A one-quarter inch bent plate connects the cold-formed steel framing to the beam, providing a slip connection designed by others to accommodate one inch of vertical movement. The bent plate is attached to the beam flange with three-sixteenths inch fillet welds applied in a two-inch by twelve-inch pattern. The metal deck profile is specified per the architectural drawings.
