A steel beam connects to a supporting column flange through a one-half-inch shear plate welded to the column with five-sixteenths fillet welds on three sides and bolted to the beam web with a number of bolts sized per schedule. One-half-inch stabilizer plates or continuity plates are welded top and bottom to the column flanges with five-sixteenths fillet welds. The beam web bolts are arranged in two columns with spacing determined per schedule.
