This assembly connects two supported beams to opposite flanges of a structural steel column using bolted shear tabs. Each shear tab is welded to the column flange with a five-sixteenths inch fillet weld. The beams are bolted to the shear tabs, with bolt patterns sized per the schedule referenced in detail 4. Where required, three-eighths inch thick plates are installed as top and bottom stiffeners, welded to the column flange with one-quarter inch fillet welds. A three-eighths inch cap plate is provided where indicated. For skewed framing conditions, the shear tab is skewed to match the beam alignment, and the supported beam flange is trimmed at the skew angle.
