Cold-formed steel studs splice together end-to-end within a sixteen-gauge compensation track featuring one-and-a-half-inch minimum vertical slotted holes. The connection is secured with number ten sheet metal screws spaced at eight inches on center, supplemented by number eight sheet metal screws at each side of the stud flanges. A note restricts application to specifically designated locations.
