Two precast concrete panels are joined across a gap using a 3/8-inch thick by 1-foot 5-inch bent plate with four 7/8-inch diameter welded studs and two number 6 by 3-foot long reinforcing bars at one leg, and full penetration welds at the other leg. A 1-inch by 10-inch by 1-foot 8-inch plate bridges the underside of the joint, secured with five-sixteenths inch fillet welds on three sides typically. Wire mesh is tack welded and the pocket is filled with non-shrink grout after welding is complete.
