A concrete slab over metal deck bears on a wide-flange steel beam with a minimum two-inch deck bearing and a fluted deck closure. A one-quarter-inch continuous bent plate with number five deformed bar anchors spaced at eighteen inches on center is welded to the support. Diaphragm reinforcement consists of a minimum of two number five bars where not otherwise indicated, lapped up to twelve inches. The assembly accommodates deck spanning in the opposite direction at similar conditions.
