Metal studs as scheduled carry two layers of five-eighths inch impact resistant gypsum wallboard on both sides, with moisture resistant gypsum wallboard at wet walls and type X gypsum wallboard at fire-rated assemblies. The wall assembly terminates at a slotted deflection track bedded in a continuous bead of acoustical sealant. Batt insulation fills the stud cavity, and sealant is applied on both sides using acoustic sealant for non-rated assemblies or firestop sealant for rated and smoke assemblies beneath the metal deck.
