A wide flange beam supports a filler beam using a structural tee section sized per plan. A quarter-inch fillet weld connects the structural tee to the supporting beam flange. Quarter-inch stiffener plates are installed on each side of the structural tee spaced at four feet, positioned six inches from each end of the structural tee. Three-sixteenth-inch fillet welds secure the stiffener plates to the structural tee web.
