A thirty-six inch diameter concrete column is reinforced with sixteen number nine vertical reinforcing bars enclosed by a number four spiral tie. The spiral tie has a three inch pitch with double turns at the top and bottom of the column. A two and one-half inch concrete clearance is maintained to the outside face.
