This detail outlines permissible unreinforced core drilling and core opening dimensions for composite metal floor decks. Holes through the top of the deck flute are limited to a maximum width of 6 inches with a minimum clear spacing of 12 inches between openings. Holes through the web or bottom of the deck flute restrict cuts to a maximum of one low flute cut with a 6-inch maximum width. Minimum spacing between adjacent unreinforced deck penetrations is maintained at 1'-6" minimum.
