A continuous one-quarter-inch bent plate bears on the flange of a wide flange steel beam alongside the roof deck. The bent plate has a maximum vertical leg of five inches and a maximum horizontal leg of six inches, with dimensions sized per plan. A three-sixteenths-inch fillet weld connects the assembly with a three-to-twelve pitch or spacing. The roof deck requires a minimum two-inch bearing on the supporting steel beam flange.
