The assembly features a structural steel column welded to a base plate with a complete joint penetration (CJP) weld and stiffener or plate elements. The base plate is anchored to a concrete foundation or grade beam using anchor bolts with heavy hex nuts and washers, supported by leveling nuts or shim stacks over a grouted joint. A structural shear key extends downward into the footing and is surrounded by grout, with an uplift plate assembly at the bottom of the anchor bolts.
