Where the spacing of multiple slab openings is less than three times the opening diameter, effective opening outlines dictate specific reinforcement requirements. Each opening configuration requires one number 5 top and bottom added trim bar placed all around the effective opening. These trim bars must extend one foot six inches beyond the effective opening on each side. Diagonal bars are not required for these closely spaced conditions.
