A hollow structural section wind girt connects to steel studs via a supplier-provided stiffened clip angle and a continuous 1/4-inch bent plate. The assembly features a one-inch plus-or-minus gap between the girt and framing to accommodate vertical deflection and horizontal drift. The supplier-provided drift connection accommodates differential movement while securing the girt to the stud wall. A continuous fillet weld secures the bent plate to the girt as indicated by standard welding symbols.
