This structural detail shows a beam-to-parallel-beam connection utilizing a web plate or shear tab welded to the supporting steel beam and bolted to the supported steel member. A three-quarter-inch clearance gap is maintained between the framing members. Fillet welds are specified on three sides where the shear tab joins the supporting beam web. Additional conditions illustrate a steel beam framing into a wide flange steel column web using a web plate with half-inch stiffener plates.
