A new metal stud wall is installed adjacent to an existing exterior concrete wall with a one-half inch gap maintained between them. The metal studs are secured at the base, top, and at a maximum of eight-foot vertical spacing using fourteen-gauge clips. Each clip is fastened to the concrete wall with two Hilti X-U pins and attached to the stud using three number ten sheet metal screws. Gypsum board is applied to the interior side of the metal stud wall.
