Concrete floor slab transitions incorporate a depressed slab edge with continuous reinforcing dowels matched to the slab size. The construction joint features a continuous keyway and a tooled edge with a one-eighth inch radius on each side. The control joint includes a sawcut executed within the first twelve hours of the pour and a tooled edge with a one-eighth inch radius. Both conditions maintain a minimum six-inch dimension at the step transition.
